Grey Water Reed System

A tour of Lake Bourget ... for fun!

This Friday, I have nothing important to do well, having provided the basis to spend the week Libya. In the light of changing events I have to say I do not really regret not having left there: doubtless it would certainly been interesting to live an emergency evacuation but ... and happily run south of a country where people are being slaughtered a little further north would not have been good politics. In short, the decision to cancel the race and the trip was very good. Still, when Philip
Delachenal suggests I go for a walk, but not around because he had misunderstood the message of Pascal Zellner who proposes this ballad and think we do a round trip of about forty miles the shores of Lake Bourget, I'm quite starting. The weather is mild, therefore, failing to discover a new desert, not going to explore the environment my new home?
So go for a friendly trail that will take longer than expected: in effect, Pascal, well-known doctor in the world of trail that "medicalized" in particular the Solu Khumbu trail and many others and working to IFREMONT , tells us that in fact we leave for a full tour of the lake through new hiking trail called "Savoy Rando-lake". No worries, we are not at a score of one kilometer!
So we start, rather good look, just a portion paved and flat, the Lac du Bourget in Aix-les-Bains. It's actually pretty well marked, except in Aix itself, but we do not lose the wire too. We then enter in the beautiful forest where we find Corsuet still a lot of beautiful coastline. From there we depart quite markedly from the shores of the lake to go to the mountains that overlook it.
We pass through small passes at nearly 900 meters above sea level (the lake is 250 m) through woods and meadow, passing through small hamlets. A nice quiet environment. The slopes are sometimes quite pronounced and our pace has dropped somewhat since our departure, however, we still have time to enjoy this beautiful ride, since it gets dark a little later now. We obviously have not taken Front ...
After the village, it thickens a bit: the markup is probably not yet finished and we all spend a good hour wandering through the woods and thickets in search of the right track.

Finally we go through another path that makes us reach the "Lake hike. We then begin a descent to Chindrieux good, however we will avoid cutting. We here at the end of the lake, it therefore remains only to return by the left bank!
We stop a moment to ask for water at a brave lady who kindly filled our water bottles and then we leave. We find a bit of bitumen lead us to the famous Abbey Hautecombe. Here we have strayed from the path "hike lake," we are hoping to return by the "path of cure" following to close the lake shore. Arrived at the Abbey we have some difficulty finding the trail but finally said, ascending a little higher, we join.
From there, we hike the race becomes a trudge. The priest in question should be pretty athletic and had strong ankles: Many obstacles, branches, brambles and boulders to bring into effect across our path, the stone drains are sometimes difficult to cross and some portions are a little acrobatics. The handrails, which all seem new, like what that path is probably being rehabilitated, are so welcome. Our progress is not very fast but we are all still in good shape. Our eyes are often distracted by beautiful lake views, we overlook. Well it should, however, not too loose sight of the ground under pain of being on the ground quickly on such a ground.
Do not we were dragging too much fear of being overtaken by night. But hey we join the road just in time to enjoy the last light of this beautiful day. Time to strike some along nicely km admiring the beautiful quiet booths this lakeside and we're back to our starting point. The tower is closed. Night has fallen.
We returned well pleased with this beautiful tower of the largest lake in France. About 65 miles on it and some 2000 vertical meters. But this is not the most important. The key is to have completed this beautiful loop, this new discovery.

Turn around a lake, a mountain, a natural monument or artistic quest is one of the most classic runner, the walker, pilgrim. I am no exception to this tradition, have always been naturally grown, in such circumstances, to accomplish a turn. In my first rounds of the ponds in the forest of Rambouillet to the convolution around Mount Kailash, I will have done the rounds. This one reminded me at times the reflections of another lake, seen through the trees, that of Kovsgol Mongolia. While size is not quite the same, but the joy of running around house. With envy, ultimately leaving for a new round.

How Much Does It Cost For Bangbros

Libyan Challenge, or the trip to Goussainville ... Annapurna

So a journey, not intended for some time now (well compared to my average), rather prepared in training and logistics and a. .. petered out.
course in recent weeks, the events in neighboring countries, Tunisia and Egypt, could worry us. Libya, because of its political system, would logically end up moving a little too. Good afternoon, revolution or not, safe or not, until the last moment nothing was safe. It is true that the situation was becoming apparent, "hot" this latest week. Anyway, the events from the far north east of the country and the race itself being very south west it still seemed possible. The day before takeoff, even a message from the organization told us that everything was kept, the situation does not present a danger that a message from the Embassy of France in Libya confirmed.
Confident but still not totally sure of the coming weekend, so I headed toward the capital Friday morning, to get to Roissy, specifically Goussainville, to spend a night at the hotel near the airport to catch a plane so early the next morning to Ghat, near the desert Akakus ...
So now, after 3 hours by TGV, a few miles of walks in Paris, a small subway ride and 25 minutes Train, I landed in Goussainville. Goussainville is one of the jewels of the Paris suburbs as the only (or almost) the 9-3 has to offer: an RER station, a few bars and Khebab front, a little further wasteland leading to a beautiful area Artisanal and commercial, with a Carrefour and many chain hotels (well I am in bad faith, I have not traveled the entire city). It is near the airport, if we judge the aircraft that appear to raze the roof. A perfect setting, however, for a brief stopover before flying away ... because it really makes you want to leave!
I'm very well received by a great staff at Comfort Hotel, where I found my friend Mohamad Ahansal came from Morocco especially for this race that it is one of the favorites. In preparation for the full MDS, Mohammed is not "100%" but still sharp. It has also been making rounds stage to stretch his legs and his form before completing the 220 miles of desert ahead. Some
Loved son and a dinner at the pizzeria on the corner (a pizzeria chain of course) where you spend still a nice moment to discuss race, projects, gazelles ... We are about to us bed early enough to be fit for the start when I take a look on my blackberry: the last post titled: Libyan Challenge-Cancels. The content has been taken by the main specialized sites, he said that due to developments in the last few hours the organizers were forced to reconsider their position, and death in the soul, to cancel race! Say that this message find myself totally, it is of course not, in fact, as we were not on the starting line, I kept some doubts about the developments. But still, too late and already almost in the plane ...
Finally, it is so, the Libyans were certainly lots of good reasons to start a revolution and the cancellation of our race is really a small anecdote in the whirlwind that has shaken the Arab world these days .. . But still good, hard blow. For me it's no big deal, a move to Paris, a few rods of lost, a beautiful story and a race, a journey of less. For those like Momo, are far from over, that's more annoying. For the organizers, who see their race is canceled for the second time, it is certainly terrible. I sincerely hope they will recover and that a better political situation and more stable will make Libya a country where we can run and fly more quietly. The Libyan had anything to challenge it and the potential remains, I think, intact. We'll see ...
Cancellations are decidedly left of my travels: Already last year I saw at the last moment, a private flight (due to strike the blow is very French!) To run in Italy on Lavaredo. I again fail in any of these unlikely "hotel zone" near the airport, where a hotel overbooked I shared my room with a math teacher at the University of Melbourne, in transit between two conferences. It's part of the game and uncertainties, even if it turn out well. Memories of reading, the obsession of the learned Cosine, where the poor scholar (taking it very badly indeed) can never turn out for the world or the most recent trip to Trulala where the hero finds himself in totally different places where he had planned to visit, come to my mind the next morning, when I say yes my trip to Libya was arrested in Goussainville. ..
We spend a morning with Mohamad curious to wait for a package of Solomon was to happen early and which will not happen ... Not to be totally came to nothing and after much procrastination Mohamad decided to wait until Monday to be sure to be well equipped for the MDS. On the stroke of 13h I leave for my 93 for Poitiers is the birthday of my mother and suddenly I can be there.
Instead of running 220 km in the desert, I run with my EVO 1:30 barefoot in the paths Poitevin, a curious desire to feel the earth beneath my feet and running light ... To benefit from physical sensations failing to discover a desert. Well I'm leaving anyway, in principle, to a big week for Gran Canaria, and there is a long race scheduled there ... I'll get over it quickly even if the move which perpetually agitates me is not satisfied today!

Come run and walk in Nepal with Phu Dorjee Lama Sherpa (and me ...) The mountain shared

Phu My boyfriend Nepalese Sherpa Dorjee Lama is not only one of the best runners of his country (he has won every major trail in stages of Nepal, including twice the Himal Race Race remains the most tough world in the mountains, in my opinion) but also an excellent guide. He has a knack for spotting such small friendly lodges, guides you through the villages to meet people, make you appreciate the true life of Nepal and show you the most beautiful places and the best paths.

If you dream of Nepal but you do not yet feel able to cope with long runs stepwise still very demanding, take advantage of this opportunity: I organize trips with him two horses in the land of the Wind: A
-trekking in Langtang, a particularly unspoilt and typical of the lives of mountain villages in Nepal from October 15 to 30.
-A trip to the Annapurna race 100 which will take place on 1 January 2012. This race will offer a course of 50.70 or 100 kilometers from Pokhara and you will discover the region of Annapurna, with stunning views of this mountain which houses some of the finest 8000 meter of the planet. The trail is accessible on trails and mule tracks, although with some nice grimpettes expected!
To complete this discovery we propose a further trek to base camp of Annapurna, a classic trek in Nepal, but that never disappoints!
You can only come for the race, or for the trek, which takes you back in France on January 17. It's a quiet period for trekking in Nepal but the temperatures are pleasant for trekking around 3000 to 4000 meters. And then spend the new year in Nepal is an experience!

You can find all the information on these two trips here:

And the race site here information in French very soon:
